We Saved The Best For Last

Having Aunt Kate here was so much fun! Reese and I loved showing Aunt Kate our new home. We already told you about a few of the fun places we explored but we saved the best for last!

Hawaii is well know for it's delicious pineapples and we were so excited to visit the Dole Pineapple Plantation. At the plantation we walked through their beautiful gardens, fed a pond full of koi fish and went on a great train ride through the pineapple fields. Of course there was fresh pineapple to taste (I gave mine to mommy and Aunt Kate, I don't like pineapple yet) and Aunt Kate even had pineapple ice cream!

The Dole Plantation was so much fun but nothing could compare to our day trip to Turtle Beach where we swam with the turtles! When I say swam with the turtles I really mean swam with the turtles. Aunt Kate, Mommy, Reese and I drove to the North Shore, parked on the side of the road walked down to the beach and there were the most amazing turtles. We didn't waste any time getting right in the water and the turtles didn't waste anytime finding us. You are not allowed to touch the turtles because they are protected animals but if you are patient the turtles will come right up to you, one even bumped into Mommy! Swimming with the turtles is by far the coolest thing that we have done in Hawaii and I am so happy that we did it with Aunt Kate because we love her so much!!!

Let's Eat!

While Aunt Kate was here with us we took her to some great places to eat! One of my favorite places is Pinky's Pupu Bar. Now let me explain that pupu is the Hawaiian word for appetizer, I didn't want anyone to think that it had anything to do with Reese's diaper! (Check out Aunt Kate and Reese's matching outfits)

On our trip to Waikiki we ate at The Cheesecake Factory! I know that The Cheesecake Factory isn't very Hawaiian but Mommy and Aunt Kate love it and I must admit that I do too!

On our visit to Wakiki we saw the Louis Vuitton store and it made us all think of Aunt Jacki. Reese and I miss her so much and we can't wait to see her in October!

On Aunt Kate's last morning we went to great local breakfast place called Boot and Kimos. It is a very small little restaurant in downtown Kailua. We all had a very good and FILLING meal!!

A little time inside too!

We didn't spend everyday with Aunt Kate at the beach, so what else did we do? One day that was a bit cloudy we headed for some fun at the mall. Mommy had to carry me most of the day but Ava was free to play with Aunt Kate. Ava loves to go to the Windward Mall and run wild at the play center. Aunt Kate kept a close eye on her, making sure that she didn't leap off of anything too high!

Of course we did lots of fun things here in our house. Aunt Kate looked great when she played dress-up with Ava! I hope that I inherit Aunt Kate's sense of fashion!

Hitting the Beach!

Aunt Kate's trip to Hawaii wouldn't be complete if we didn't take her to a few of the beautiful beaches. Our first beach trip was right up the road from my house at North Beach. Mommy carried Reese and Aunt Kate helped me down to the perfect spot (see picture above). I had the best time splashing in the waves with Aunt Kate. Even though she got a little tired Aunt Kate was always ready for another dip in the ocean with me. Reese stayed in the shade most of the time but mommy made her pose for some pictures (better her than me!).

For our next trip to the beach we drove to Bellows Air Force Base. Bellows has a great beach with really soft sand to play in. Mommy likes that the parking is close to the beach and it has showers to get the sand out of all those creases and rolls that Reese has!

The third beach we visited was another beach right here on base, Hale Koa beach. This beach has almost no waves which is great for me. This beach is very small and we usually have the whole place to ourselves! This beach is also great to see colorful coral and fish. I haven't figured out how to snorkel yet but Daddy is going to teach me when he gets home.

Aunt Kate is here!!!

Ava and I are so excited because our Aunt Kate is here visiting! We have missed her so much and we have lots of fun things planned for her visit. I wanted to post some pictures while she was still here because we are having so much fun that we wanted everyone to know about it!

First we took Aunt Kate to see our cute little town, Kailua. We walked around (I don't walk yet but Mommy was kind enough to carry me) and looked at some of the local shops. Ava suggested Mama's Pizza for lunch and everyone loved it!

Our next adventure was to the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Ava loved checking out the different military displays while we waited for our turn on the boat to the memorial. It was a beautiful day and the memorial is very moving. We always have Daddy on our mind when we are at a place like this, we miss him very much but he will be home soon.
